Founder's note.

My name is Katelyn Whitten. I created Rauha Rituals because I needed it, not from a place where everything felt calm, but in the middle of one of the most demanding seasons of my life. When I finally had space to sit and reflect, I knew I wanted to build a place that meets you exactly where you are. Rauha isn't a single day, it's a practice, a way of returning to yourself again and again. Fiora Wellness is what I've built to turn that practice into ritual.

The beginning of Fiora.

I finished my PhD the way a lot of high-achieving women finish enormous things - by collapsing. Late nights compounding into months. Every last resource directed outward: to the research, the thesis, the family, the career. The moment it was done, my body simply stopped, I was sick before I'd had a chance to feel proud.

During that final year, I had started going to the sauna.

Not for any particular reason at first, but I noticed something afterwards. Inside the heat, with my notebook on my knee and my phone left outside the door, I could think. Really think. I'd plan chapters, write paragraphs. Sit with something difficult until it became clear. I'd come out feeling not just relaxed, but restored. Recharged in a way that sleep alone wasn't offering me.

I started searching for a word for that feeling. The particular quality of stillness and ease after the heat. The clarity that follows complete release.

I found it, a Finnish term - Rauha. The profound stillness that settles over you after a sauna. Your jaw unclenches, your shoulders drop, your mind goes quiet. You experience the post sauna exhale. A state the body arrives at when it is finally allowed to.

I wasn't looking for wellness. I was looking for a way to keep showing up. For my children and husband, for work, for myself. The sauna gave me that and rauha became the practice I built everything around.

I didn't know the term nervous system regulation back then. I just knew that slowing down, being present and moving gently was the only thing keeping me functional. I was doing it without language for it. Fiora Wellness is me giving it language and making it available to other women who are doing the same.

The origin of Fiora the name.

Italian. From fiore - flower, blossom. Associated with beauty, nature and the Roman goddess of flowering things.

When I was searching for a name, I wasn't looking for something that sounded like wellness. I was looking for something that felt like becoming.

Fiora was perfect for reasons that go beyond meaning. It sits one letter away from Fiona - my mother's name. She passed before I could share with her the things I now know about how to tend to a body. This brand is, in part, the legacy I'm building for her. The education I wish I could have given her.

To blossom is not a dramatic act. It is a quiet, patient unfolding. That is what this Fiora is, and it describes my Mum perfectly.

What Fiora has become.

Rauha was never only about the sauna. It was the sauna, followed by stillness, followed by something to hold onto once the heat faded. A place to write, a moment to notice how the body felt now that it was finally allowed to stop. A feeling to carry on throughout a normal day.

This is what ritual means at Fiora. Not routine for its own sake and not another thing to add to an already full list. A structure simple enough to return to, built around what the body needs when it is finally given permission to soften.

What began as something I needed for myself has become something I want to teach, build and give to other women. Rauha Rituals is the signature retreat for Fiora Wellness. A place held for you with care and respect, where you are allowed to put everything else down and return to yourself.

The day was never meant to end when you leave the hinterland. Rauha is a way of choosing your own stillness on purpose, again and again, long after the retreat is over. A quieter evening. A moment you protect instead of filling. A ritual you carry home and keep returning to, because you decided it mattered enough to keep.

That choice, made consciously, again and again, is what Fiora is really asking of you.

I'll be holding space for you when you're ready.

With gratitude,
Katy

You already know this feeling, you just haven't had space for it in a while. Fiora is your return to you.
